Before I left yesterday, I visited the central library. Lots of WOW factor! I actually went on a tour and had a phenomenal tour guide. Before I left I added CML's autograph and a hello to the teen graffiti wall! More pictures here
I toured the Minneapolis Central library, too, before leaving town Saturday. It was amazing! What a showplace - but it made me wonder - is Minneapolis a whole lot larger than Columbus? I had no idea, really.
I loved the open-ness of the place - achieved in part by the compacted stacks they have.
Can you imagine handling security at such a huge location? And we thought our Main Lib was a tough challenge!
They had some great book display things in the kids' area. They had said they were from Blue Rhino, but as far as I can tell from the web, that is a propane tank company. Hmm . . . more searching necessary!
Brandy Biegler and Cathy Williams (Homework Help Centers, Friday 4-5:15) Christopher Korenowsky and Jodi Lee (Proactive Reference, Friday 4-5:15) Robin Nesbit, Shaunessey Everett, and Marihelen Hatcher (48 Hour Turnaround, Friday 4-5:15) Todd Grazier (Evaluating Children's Program Roundtable, Thursday 2-3:15)
